Formed in 2001 and
based in Rockland, we currently have 17 members representing 8
different towns from Waldoboro to Belfast. We play many gigs
each year at private parties and public events. You may have heard
us at the Lobster Festival where our director, Mike Miller, is
right at home in his annual role as King Neptune. Or you may have
tapped your toes to our eclectic repertoire at the Maine Boats,
Homes, and Harbors Show on Rocklands waterfront or at Belfasts
New Years By The Bay. You may even have heard us playing
our pans in front of Bricks Restaurant on Main Street in
Rockland. Steelin Thunder is a non-profit group. With proceeds
received from our performances we award scholarships to mid-coast
area high school graduates who are furthering their education
in the field of music.
